Wildfire Tips

Emergency Preparedness Checklist

The Weather News link gives more accurate, real-time local weather reports, as well as the weekly forecast, direct from the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribal Center.

What began as a scientific project in Natural Resources has become a key link in the urban net paid for by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOA). Our Weather Bug is also part of the King 5 School Net reports.

The Emergency News link gives information about roads and office closures and has become part of the PGST Emergency Preparedness Program. Weather closures and medical emergencies are the type of information shared here. This may be expanded to include Natural Resources or other types of hazard notices at a later date.

There is also a new emergency information phone line, 360-297-6248 that you can call to check on office closures or other emergencies. This may be updated on a faster basis than the web page. This is a great tool for Program Directors to provide timely updates via this line.

So during bad weather or other unforeseen emergencies, be sure and check these links and call the phone line. We now have several ways to stay connected and informed!
