S'Klallam Tribal Center

The departments of the tribal government have a reputation for integrity and stability. They provide a wide array of government administration and services to community residents. In 1992 the Tribe became one of the first Self-Governance tribes in the United States and has assumed control of its BIA and IHS programs. Under Self-Governance, the Tribe has been able to dramatically improve and expand programs and services. Other "firsts" include the first tribal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) program in Washington, the first TANF Tribe in the state to operate a federally funded child support program, an award winning health clinic and an acclaimed dental clinic.

As of April 4, 2011, Tribal Government has divided into two branches: Tribal Government Administration and Tribal Government Services. Organized within Tribal Government Administration are the following departments:

Tribal Government Administration

Accounting
Enrollment
Self Governance Office
Utilities and Public Works
Court Administration and Laws
Public Safety
Natural Resources

Tribal Government Services Administration

Cultural Resources
Career and Education
Early Childhood Education
Health Services
Children & Family Services
