The mission of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe’s Chi-e-chee is to promote healthy families through the elimination of alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse in the Port gamble S’Klallam community, in accordance with the Tribe’s culture, values, and traditions.
For the community members, parents, employees, families, local business, marketing, native school liaison’s, local faith based organizations to come together and help find areas of need and focus on improving
We help raise awareness and educate about community and legal issues surrounding drugs and alcohol, we also come together and support one another and in the bigger picture makes a stronger, safer community. We assure that programs and strategies are culturally appropriate, family-focused, and effective at eliminating alcohol, tobacco and other drug abuse.
We also assure that community members and staff, have access to accurate, relevant and culturally competent, comprehensive information about prevention, intervention and treatment resources for alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse and related problems. We form subcommittees and everyone has a chance to be heard or be involved.
ALL Port Gamble S’Klallam Community members are welcome and encouraged to be part of Chi-e-chee. Meetings are held on the 2nd Wed of every month and are open to the community!
